In 2 Cor. 9:7-8, it tells us that every man should give according as he purposes in his heart and not grudgingly, or out of compulsion, because God loves a cheerful giver. It goes on to say that when we do it according to God’s instructions, He is able to make ALL grace abound toward you; that you ALWAYS having ALL sufficiency in ALL things, may abound to EVERY good work. What an amazing promise this is! 

When we sow, by the Spirit, into the work of the kingdom of God, we are sowing seed into our heavenly account that will bring forth a harvest in our lives. Then we will have all sufficiency, or contentment and satisfaction, in all things.

Galatians 6:6-10 goes on to give us more instruction about sowing (giving) to the Spirit:

“Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches. Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” (NKJV)
