A New Direction
Back in January 2015, the Lord put in my spirit one day that we were going to be moving. Not thinking much more about where or when this move would take place, I started collecting moving boxes, convinced I had heard Him. I was working for a builder in Dallas as a Design Coordinator in their showroom. So whenever we had empty boxes that reams of paper came in, I would take the boxes home and stack them in the garage. (Faith always has corresponding actions!) It would be weeks later when those boxes were piling up that JR asked what was going on, as I had just kept in my heart what the Lord had spoken to me!
Three months later, towards the end of April, 400 employees at the company where JR was working were laid off, and he was one of them. For about 3 months nothing happened jobwise for him. At first we were a little puzzled at what was going on, but kept trusting the Lord believing He was up to something.
I had been watching Andrew Wommack Ministries on tv for quite awhile at that time and had seen him talk about Charis Bible College in Colorado. I saw how beautiful it was with the mountains and snow and had a fleeting thought how nice that would be to go there, but never gave it another thought after that until……………..!
Every summer in July they have a Summer Family Bible Conference, and I had received a brochure in the mail for the upcoming 2015 conference. So I put it on the kitchen counter and left it there. Weeks later, JR made a comment and then asked if I would be interested in going. I was thrilled, to say the least!
We flew there for the week long conference, and it was incredible. All the speakers were so anointed by the Spirit of God and everyone we met was so friendly and welcoming. I felt like I had arrived in heaven!
By the time we arrived at the conference, though, I knew in my spirit (and probably before that) this was where the Lord was moving us to. When we got back home, JR said to me, “If this is God for us to move there, He is going to have to confirm it to you and me individually.” Well, it wasn’t but a day or two later when God spoke these words to me as I was praying, “This is the way you’re to go, walk in it.” I knew that was in the bible and looked it up. It was Isaiah 30:21. Not long after that, God spoke to JR confirming this was indeed what we were to do. Less than a month later, we left everything and were on the road moving to Colorado!
We started the bible college in Sept. 2015 and graduated in May 2017. This new direction has turned out to be an amazing adventure that only the Lord could have brought to pass in our lives. A verse that describes so well what He has done is in Isaiah 55:9 where it says His ways and His thoughts are higher than ours.
The scripture (below) in Mark 10:28-29 has, and still is, taking place in our lives today:
“Then Peter began to say to Him, See, we have left all and followed you. So Jesus answered and said, Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time–houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecution–and in the age to come, eternal life.”
In closing, I would encourage you by saying, don’t ever limit God and what He can do in your life because He is the God of the impossible. And “He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all you can ask or think according to the power that works in you. Unto Him be glory in the church by Jesus Christ throughout all ages, world without end. Amen” Eph. 3:20-21.
