Something to Consider ~~

Today as I was praying (11/17/21), something came up in my spirit that God wanted me to write about and have you consider! This is something that the Lord revealed to me probably around 2008 or so. It is something few people have probably considered, at least that I know of when I have mentioned it to them. As a matter of fact, they look at me shocked but yet immediately acknowledge it to be true. The blinders instantly come off their eyes, just like it did with me that day. So this is definitely worth considering and making note of.

As born again believers, we have all read Galatians 3:10-14, which I will write out below and encourage you to read slowly. We need to ask ourselves, do we really believe what it says?:

“For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them. But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for the just shall live by faith. Yet the law is not of faith, but the man who does them shall live by them. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us for it is written, Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree, that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”

Jesus paid the price for every curse when He hung on that tree, and the exchange was He took those curses (sickness, poverty and death – which are in Deuteronomy 28, which come from being under the law) and gave us health, prosperity and life, which are a blessing that we receive and appropriate by faith.

Many are probably saying, “Well, of course I believe that.” But consider this ~~ How many of us when we got married, or maybe there are some of you planning on getting married soon, that used the traditional marriage vows which say we take our husband/wife “…….for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health…….”?

That day back in 2008, God opened my eyes to see the vow I had taken and spoken when I got married. And I immediately realized I had taken a vow of sickness, poverty and death, all of which are not of God. And I was a born again, spirit filled believer! I had no revelation, at the time I got married, of what Jesus paid for on the cross when He died, was buried and rose again. He took those curses and paid for them with His own life so that I could walk in the blessing of Abraham by faith in health, prosperity and life. I also remember telling the Lord that day that I would not make any vows to Him, but whatever He asked me to do, I would do it by the mercy and grace of God.

When you look up the word vow, it means a promise or a prayer. And many times people make vows when they are in distress. As it states in Psalm 66:14, “I will go into Your house with burnt offerings; I will pay You my vows, which my lips have uttered and my mouth has spoken when I was in trouble (or distress).” And it says in Ecclesiastes when you vow a vow, do not delay to pay it. Now when one gets married and takes those traditional wedding vows, you aren’t in distress (or shouldn’t be!), but you have taken on, or maybe I should say, have reinforced curses that God never intended you to take. Why? Because Jesus paid for them on the cross with His life.

That day, when the Lord revealed this to me, I immediately renounced, rejected, cancelled out loud those words I had spoken and taken as mine. Did you know words have power? Proverbs 18:21 — Life and death are in the power of the tongue. I declared that day back in 2008, I would walk in health, prosperity, and life because that is what Jesus came to give me. And I want everything He has provided for me. John 10:10 says that the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and life more abundantly. Sickness, poverty and death are not an abundant life; they are not of God. We don’t have to die a premature death. And once we are born again we are alive for evermore and death has no more dominion over us. God promises a long life full of His abundance of goodness and truth and that we will fulfill and finish our course ! God is no respecter of persons, and if we believe Him, we will stay strong until the end. I truly believe God restores our youth as the eagles! That is a promise.

So I pray you consider what God put in my spirit to share with you today, and let Him give you understanding in all things. (And if you don’t believe what I’ve shared, no problem – this is not for you)!

God is faithful to finish what He has started with each one of us, and as we trust Him and believe His promises, we will see them come to pass in our life.
