The scripture in Isaiah 6:1 has been coming up in my spirit lately. It says, “In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple.” I started doing some research and studying out what this exactly meant. So I am going to share with you what I learned and found out about this verse in Isaiah.
As we are all probably aware of, the train of a robe is the long, back part of the robe that hangs down and flows across the floor. It is a symbol of majesty and honor. This also describes a wedding gown that has a long train and flows, some longer than others, but it is a representation of glory and honor of the bride on her wedding day. As we know, Jesus is coming back for His bride, the Church, which will be one without spot, wrinkle or blemish. What a glorious bride this will be – Us the Church, the body of Christ, dressed in all of His glory. Are we preparing for His return, and our state of being at that time – one with no spots, wrinkles or blemishes?? Which by the way, no one knows the day or hour when Jesus will return except the Father in heaven – Matthew 24:36.
Most of us have a ways to go, but God’s grace is sufficient as we prepare for His return. We need to be doing what it says in Hebrews 12– Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith! And know that He that has begun a good work in us, will complete or finish it until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
As the world gets darker and darker, the light of the glorious gospel will shine brighter and brighter through us, the Bride of Christ, to a world full of people that are in hopelessness, despair and darkness. There will be an amazing end time harvest of people looking for truth, looking for hope and looking for peace that only God can give. We are the salt of the earth and the light of the world (Jesus in us!) – a city that cannot be hid. So we need to let our light shine so that people will see our good works (and works of faith are the only good works!) and they will glorify our Father which is in heaven – Matthew 5:14.
So all that being said (which just came up by the Spirit of God) let’s go back to Isaiah 6 —
As I continued doing some research on His robe filling the temple, this was Isaiah’s view or vision of God clothed in His robe of majesty filling the temple of His throne room. In the days of Isaiah, whenever kings were defeated, pieces of the material of their royal robes were cut and sewn onto the robe of the victorious king. When pieces of material were cut off of the defeated king’s robe, it was symbolic of removing the defeated king’s authority to rule and reign. When it was sewn onto the conquering king’s robe, it was a representation of the victorious king’s strength and power to rule over his newly conquered kingdom.
What Isaiah saw and described was the infinite and limitless victories of God and His train ‘filling the temple’. All of His conquests over the enemy and every battle that had been won was a representation of the train of His robe covering the temple – no room for defeated kings (which represents our foes or enemies)! Total victory over every single trial, tribulation, and hindrance of the enemy. There was no room for anything representing defeat there. Why? Because it had all been defeated and the battle had been won. And so it stands to this day! The battle has been won over sin, sickness, disease, fear, lack, despair, hopelessness, discouragement, unforgiveness, etc.
As I still continued to study this, Isaiah 61:10 came up in my spirit, “I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He hath covered me with the robe of righteousness…….” We are clothed with garments of deliverance, prosperity, safety and covered in a robe of righteousness — that robe of victory where there is NO room for defeat!
What an encouragement for us as believer’s to know that God through Jesus has defeated every foe and force of darkness that would try and stand against us. We have nothing but victory in front of us because the battle has already been won – the train of His robe fills the temple. Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Ghost so where the temple of God is, there is no room for defeat. If this doesn’t encourage you, then I’m not sure what will! I’m encouraging myself as I write this!!
Whatever we walk through, we can do it knowing victory is ours, and we will walk through it every single time undefeated. We need to declare this out loud in faith!
As I shared in a post not too long back on my FB page, God didn’t get rid of the Red Sea when the children of Israel had no where to go when Pharaoh’s army was behind them chasing them – and the Red Sea was in front of them. It looked like total defeat, BUT GOD……..He parted the Red Sea and they ‘walked through’ on dry ground and their enemies were drowned behind them.
God has ways you and I haven’t even thought of because He has already paved a way when there seems to be no way. He doesn’t come up with a plan right when you need it, He already has the plan in place before you get there!
That is the God we serve – that is the victory we have in Him every time!!
